- artist statement -
TRAGEDYan inexplicable word.
"would you call IT a tragedy?"
- you
i would only say IT's sad, so sad that i've no adjectives left. sadness, one can live with, but sadness is a helpless garrison against the blindness of tragedy.
IT: the loss of 5 in a bloodline
LONELINESS:
At times i imagine a room, a room full of multiple me. when that happens, i realise the irony of loneliness; how "we" all feel it... togetherness, how ironic.
COLOUR:
"if IT is such a tragedy, why use colour?"
-you
imagine the sun, a sunflower. my painting represents me; the sunflower. And like sunflowers, i worship the sun, only when it arrives, do i rise. when it leaves, i bow my head in mourning, my world turns blank, grey; still.
